Pork Loin with Orange Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Food Ingredients:

  • 1 pork loin at least 2 lbs. in total weight
  • 2 oranges

Flavor Balancers:

  • kosher salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. sugar

Aromatics:

  • 1 tsp. ground ginger

Instructions

  • Season pork loin across all surfaces with salt and pepper. Allow to rest on counter at least 30 minutes at room temperature before baking.
  • In a medium sauce pan, combine orange juice, red pepper flakes, dark and light soy sauce, red wine vinegar, and ginger. Bring to a medium heat; allow to simmer 10 minutes. Take one orange and cut in half. Squeeze fresh juice into sauce, taking care to strain the seeds. Place orange rind into sauce. Allow to simmer 10 additional minutes.
  • Remove rind. Slowly whisk in sugar. Taste for sweetness. When sauce is sweet, pour over pork roast and bake in oven at 375°F until internal temperature reaches 145°Slice and serve with fresh orange slices as garnish.
